Daryl is currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, New Zealand, working as a Director of Photography. Between 2012 to 2014, he worked in Hong Kong at Asia Pacific Vision (APV) as an Associate Producer and Camera Operator, servicing clients such as HSBC, Disney HK, Starbucks, and Cathay Pacific. Since returning to Aotearoa New Zealand, Daryl has freelanced for various national production companies and funding bodies, such as the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC), Television New Zealand (TVNZ), and New Zealand On Air (NZOA). Daryl has won ‘Best Cinematography’ at the 48Hours Film Competition 2021 for both the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Regional Finals & Grand National Finals, ‘Best Cinematography’ at the Hollywood International Diversity Film Festival 2022, and a Gold Award for Web Series at the New Zealand Cinematographer's Society.
